Who we are

SlabBoard is software for countertop fabrication and installation shops, provided by SlabBoard. This policy explains what we do with personal information on this website and inside SlabBoard.

Two different roles

• On this website, and for the people who buy and manage SlabBoard for their shop, we decide how information is used. This policy covers that.
• Inside SlabBoard, the customer, job, employee and financial records a shop keeps belong to that shop. We process them only on the shop's behalf and instructions, under our Terms of Service and Data Processing Agreement. If you are a customer of a shop that uses SlabBoard, the shop is responsible for your records: please contact it first, and we will help it answer you.

What we collect

• Demo requests: name, work e-mail, phone if given, shop name, your role, shop size, jobs per month, current software and your message.
• Accounts: name, e-mail, phone, role, language and sign-in activity of the people who use SlabBoard, and a record of changes they make (an audit trail shops rely on).
• Shop records: what each shop enters, such as customer names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mails, quotes and e-signatures (with the signer's name, time and IP address), job photos, templating files, schedules, invoices, and payments, including photos of checks. Card and bank details for online payments are entered directly with Stripe; SlabBoard never sees or stores them.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device information in server and security logs. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme, and protect forms. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To provide, secure and support SlabBoard; to arrange demos and answer requests; to bill shops; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use shop records for advertising or to build profiles.

Who else receives it

We share personal information only with the service providers that run SlabBoard, under contracts that limit their use of it:

• Akamai Connected Cloud: hosting of the application, files and databases, in the United States.
• Cloudflare: network security, DNS and the bot check on our forms (Turnstile).
• Stripe: online payments that customers make to their shop, and shops' payments to us.
• Twilio: text message reminders a shop chooses to send to its customers and crews.
• OpenAI and Anthropic: AI features a shop chooses to use, such as translating field notes, reading a check or measuring from a photo or plan. Only the text or image needed for that task is sent.

When you provide personal data in connection with payments on SlabBoard, Stripe receives that personal data and processes it in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people or the service; and to a successor if SlabBoard's business is transferred, under the same protections.

How we protect it

Each shop's data is kept apart from every other shop's. Connections are encrypted, access is limited by role, sensitive credentials are stored encrypted, and changes are recorded in an audit trail. Links sent to a shop's customers work only for the one quote, layout, change order or invoice they were made for. We follow the Massachusetts standards for the protection of personal information (201 CMR 17.00).

How long we keep it

Shop records are kept while the shop subscribes. After a subscription ends, the shop has 30 days to export its data; we then delete it, and backup copies are erased within 90 days. Demo requests are kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Children

SlabBoard and this website are made for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you as a website visitor or account user by writing to [email protected]. For records a shop keeps about you, contact the shop. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
